State College Teachers Receive New Deal
Teachers in the State College Area School District are finally working with a new contract in place. The district’s School Board approved the contract last night unanimously. The contract is retroactive to July 1, 2011 and lasts until June 30, 2015. It gives the district’s teachers a 2 percent raise, but calls for higher health care costs. According to the Centre Daily Times, the contract applies to all of the district’s teachers, regardless if they are union members.

Thompson represents the State College area and Dent is from the eastern portion of the state.
