Penn State Looks for New Coach

Penn State hopes to name a new football coach in the coming days. Athletic Director Dr. David Joyner officially outlined the university’s plan for finding Bill O’Brien’s replacement yesterday. Joyner will lead a 6-member search committee through a national search to obtain the 16th coach in school history. Joyner says the coach does not need Penn State ties and head coach experience is preferred. O’Brien will be introduced as the new head coach of the NFL’s Houston Texans today.

Spanier Hearing Moved

A hearing to determine the future a defamation lawsuit filed by former Penn State President Graham Spanier will take place on Tuesday at the Centre County Courthouse. Spanier is attempting to delay the suit against former FBI director Louis Freeh and his team until the end of the former administrator’s criminal trial. The hearing was previously scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 pm. According to the Centre Daily Times, Spanier’s lawyer requested the change due to a schedule conflict.

Sculpture Honors Milkshake

A sculpture comprised of nearly one-thousand pounds of butter is helping the Pennsylvania Farm Show celebrate the 60th anniversary of its iconic milkshake. The sculpture was unveiled yesterday, honoring the state’s agricultural history and seven-thousand plus dairy farm families. It’s sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association and Pennsylvania Promotion Program.
