O'BRIEN TO RETURN TO PENN STATE
Penn State head football coach Bill O’Brien will return to coach the Nittany Lions in 2013 says his decision wasn’t influenced by money. Recent reports say O’Brien would receive a $1.3 million dollar raise, thanks to a donation from supporter Terry Pegula. O’Brien met with the media for the first time since the end of the 2012 season yesterday. Last week he met with several NFL teams to discuss potential head coaching positions.
SUPREME COURT ALLOWS FOR MORE ACCESS
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court continued its effort to provide easy access to court records online. The online database used for the court dockets across the commonwealth now contains more than 4.1 million cases of less than $12,000 filed in the state's magisterial district courts, including civil cases.
UNITED WAY APPROACHES GOAL
The United Way of Mifflin-Juniata continues to close in on its $600,000 campaign goal. According to the Lewistown Sentinel, the organization's current total sits just shy of $390,000, roughly 65% of the goal. The campaign runs throught March 15, 2013, and funds benefit many local service organizations across the area.
