Teen License Plates

With Teen Driver Safety Week underway across Pennsylvania, PennDOT is introducing specialty license plates for parents to buy that signify a teenager is driving. The 20-dollar plate includes a symbol for all drivers to see. The rest of the license plate resembles other unique Pennsylvania plates. The words “Please Be Courteous” surround a yield logo with “Teen Driver” inscribed inside. 


Spanier Seeks Stay

Former Penn State president Graham Spanier is hoping to delay his defamation lawsuit against Louis Freeh until the trials against 3 former Penn State administrators, including Spanier, conclude. According to the Centre Daily Times, an attorney for Spanier asked for a stay Monday in the pending civil case. Spanier’s attorney argued that a prejudice would develop against her client if the lawsuit continues. Spanier is facing trial on perjury and obstruction of justice charges.

State College Roadwork

Southgate Drive between Highlandon Court and Ashwicken Court in State College will be reduced to a single lane again today due to road work in the area. The State College Borough Public Works Department is performing street maintenance. Work will last from 7:30 am until 5 pm. Folks are asked to use an alternate route.
