Borough Council Meeting

The State College Borough Council will meet for the first time this month tonight at the downtown municipal building. Council is expected to approve a bid for the Municipal Service Facility Project. Poole Anderson was the lowest bidder on the project. Members will also discuss alternative budget meeting dates and amendments to the Centre Region Building Safety and Property Maintenance Code. Tonight’s meeting begins at 7:30.  

Penn State Museum

The Penn State All-Sports Museum will unveil a new exhibit this week. In conjunction with Friday’s men’s ice hockey season opener at Pegula Ice Arena, the museum will open it’s new hockey exhibit. The display showcases the history of hockey at Penn State from the early 1900s through last season. During homecoming weekend, the museum will be open from 10 am – 6 pm Friday, 9 am – 1:30 pm Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.


Centre County Roadwork

PennDOT roadwork is planned throughout Centre County this week. Guiderail repairs will take place on route 322 and interstate 80. Bridge work is scheduled for Forest Avenue in Marion Township. Also, road surface work will take place on Rattlesnake Pike in Rush and Union Townships and on Phoenix Road in Rush Township. Delays are possible in construction areas.
