Corbett Signs Transportation Bill
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett was in Centre County yesterday to sign one of the state’s comprehensive transportation bill into law. The legislation will generate about $2.3 billion per year for road and bridge repairs across PA. According to a release, the money will come from increases in gas taxes and motorist fees. Corbett signed the bill at a ceremony along Route 322 in Potters Mills yesterday. Expanding 322 to four lanes from Boalsburg through Seven Mountains is one project planned with the additional funding.

Winter weather rolling into our area will create travel headaches as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches. Heading into the morning, Centre County is under a winter weather advisory until tomorrow afternoon. A Nor’easter is forming along the Atlantic coast and will bring rain and strong winds to the I-95 corridor. Areas to our west could see as much as a foot of snow.
Tree Trimming Could Cause Delays
Travel delays are possible throughout the day in the 300 block of South Atherton Street in State College due to tree trimming. Dincher and Dincher serves as the borough’s contractor. Work is expected to begin around 8 am.
