BODY IDENTIFIED IN RIVER

A body found in the West Branch of the Susquehanna River in Burnside Township was identified as a 19-year-old Lebanon man. According to the Centre Daily Times, Curtis E. Martin disappeared during a May 17th church canoe trip. Martin’s body was spotted near the Karthaus Bridge late Sunday morning and was pulled from the water in Centre County. Results from Monday’s autopsy will be available in four to six weeks.

STATE COLLEGE REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

The State College Borough Redevelopment Authority will meet tomorrow at noon in room 242 of the downtown municipal building. Officials will discuss the Homestead Investment Program Process and the Capital Improvements Plan. Additionally, the Centre Foundation’s Centre Inspires Grant will provide a report. As always, public attendees are welcome and will have an opportunity to express concerns.

STATE COLLEGE TREE PLANTING 

Trees will be added throughout State College this week. Public Works crews are planting trees along streets and sidewalks in the borough. Minor delays at each area are possible. Officials urge pedestrians and drivers to exercise caution near work areas.

LOGO LIFT SCHEDULED

Penn State plans to attach an oversized Nittany Lion logo onto the back of the Beaver Stadium south endzone scoreboard today. Work is weather permitting. The backlit, LED-logo is identical to the emblem adorning the north endzone scoreboard. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin around 10 am.
