Two large festivals will take place in the area this week. The annual Central Pa Festival of the Arts in State College will begin Wednesday. Over 125,000 people are expected to come to Happy Valley this week for the always popular Sidewalk Sale and Exhibition.  Arts Fest will also feature music dance and theatrical performances.

The Borough of Philipsburg is gearing up for Heritage Days which will pack the streets beginning tomorrow. The small town aimed festival will feature several forms of entertainment for all ages, including live music, a watermelon eating contest and a car show.Both festivals will wrap up on Sunday

Logan Parade

The 41st annual Logan Fire Company parade took place in Bellefonte on Saturday. Despite Logan’s annual carnival not taking place this year, the parade featured games vendors and live entertainment.The parade was nearly cancelled as well this year, but a campaign to save it was started by local resident Bonnie Leathers and as a result, helped the borough raise enough money to hold the annual Independence Day weekend parade. 

Road Closing

State College Borough Public Works Crews will continue with concrete curb replacement on the 700 block of West Fairmount Avenue this week. Work will involve periodic closing of West Fairmount Avenue between South Sparks Street and South Patterson Street between 7:30 and 5 today through Friday. 

Road Work

A section of Park Lane from Cornwall Road to Sierra Lane in Patton Township will be closed both today and tomorrow. The road will be closed from 7am to 4pm both days. Residents are asked to detour around the road work Residents are asked to detour around the work using Sierra Lane and Cornwall Road.
