Bellefonte Man Charged Twice with DUI

A 48-year-old Bellefonte man is facing DUI charges for two separate incidents, taking place just two hours apart. According to the Centre Daily Times, Jay LeBlanc was arrested around 11:50 pm after a police officer saw LeBlanc’s truck bump another car when parking. After being returned to his girlfriend’s home after booking, LeBlanc was arrested a second time when spotted driving unsteadily again in the borough. LeBlanc refused BAC tests at Mount Nittany Medical Center


Garman Theatre Demolition to Continue

The state Commonwealth Court will not interfere with the planned demolition of Bellefonte’s history Garman Theatre. According to the Centre Daily Times, a senior judge denied the Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association’s request for an injunction to block a State College developer from tearing down the building. Arguments for and against the injunction lasted approximately 40 minutes yesterday. The report says the ruling allows the developer to demolish the theatre and next-door Hotel Do De by February. 


Ride CATA for Free

Anyone planning on using CATA bus services today can ride for free by donating a canned good or non-perishable food item. According to Statecollege.com, CATA and the State College Area Food Bank organized a “Food for Fare” program. Proceeds benefit the local food banks for holiday distribution. Items are collected upon boarding the bus.
