A Huntingdon County man was killed IN AN ACCIDENT WEDNESDAY NIGHT. State police saY 61 YEAR OLD Randall Brown of Mapleton Depot DIED when a branch fell from a tree he was working on. IT happened at Brown's farm on Lone Pine Way in Clay Township.

MICHAEL FIORE, THE PRESIDENT OF OPERATION OUR TOWN. SAYS THE BAD NEWS IS THAT TIPS TO THE “PUSH OUT THE PUSHER” HOTLINE HAVE DROPPED FROM A HIGH OF 17-HUNDRED-56 IN 2009 TO JUST 650 LAST YEAR. THERE THEY FOUND 31 YEAR OLD Sarah Glunt HIDING IN A CLOSET IN A 3RD FLOOR APARTMENT…AND THE MAN WHO LIVED THERE DIDN’T KNOW HER…OR KNOW THAT SHE HAD SLIPPED INSIDE. GLUNT was wanted for heroin distribution. SHE NOW ALSO FACING criminal trespassing and fleeing from police CHARGES.

St. Patrick’s Day is Monday and local and state law enforcement will be on full alert. DUI Task Forces will be conducting roving patrols and checkpoints to try and crack down on people drinking and driving.
lawyer surrenders license
One of the lawyers who reprresented Jerry Sandusky at his trial has surrendered his law license. wtaj reports that Carlisle attorney Karl Rominger is under investigation for misappropriating client funds which were part of a divorce settlement. In an effort to collect back taxes, the IRS recently filed 310-thousand dollars in tax liens against Rominger. On his Facebook page, Rominger admits wronging others…and he writes that he’s taking no new cases and will have 30 more days to practice if his resignation is accepted by the court.
THE ALTOONA MIRROR REPORTS THAT JC BLAIR MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN HUNTINGDON AND PINNACLE HEALTH SYSTEM OF HARRISBURG HAVE SIGNED A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR AFFILIATION. PINNACLE HAD ORIGINALLY WANTED TO ACQUIRE JC BLAIR. ACCORDING TO A JOINT NEWS RELEASE, THE AFFILIATION AGREEMENT WILL FOCUS INITIALLY ON CLINICAL SUPPORT, GROUP PURCHASING, AND DOCTOR RECRUITMENT.

The U.S. Senate passed a resolution THIS WEEK congratulating PENN STATE’S Dance Marathon on its success. The 46TH ANNUAL EVENT LAST MONTH RAISED 13-POINT-3 MILLION DOLLARS for the fight against pediatric cancer. Thon is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, and it has raised more than 113 million DOLLARS for the 4 Diamonds Fund. The resolution WAS co-sponsored by SenATORs Bob Casey and Pat Toomey.
