FATAL CRASH IN HUNTINGDON COUNTY –
A BLAIRS MILLS MAN DIED JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT ON SATURDAY IN A ONE-CAR CRASH IN HUNTINGDON COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY DOUGLAS WHITSEL, JUNIOR WAS TRAVELING SOUTH ON ROUTE 522 IN CROMWELL TOWNSHIP WHEN HIS CAR TRAVELED INTO A DITCH AND THEN CRASHED HEAD-ON INTO A TREE. WHITSEL WAS NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT.
CAR BREAK-INS IN HOLLIDAYSBURG –
HOLLIDAYSBURG STATE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING SOME CAR BREAK-INS THAT HAPPENED OVER THE WEEKEND IN THE SYLAN HILLS AREA OF HOLLIDAYSBURG. ONE OF THE VICTIMS HAD BASEBALL GLOVES AND A BACKPACK STOLEN FROM HER CAR. ANOTHER VICTIM HAD DIAMOND EARRINGS VALUED AT $19,000 STOLEN, ALONG WITH A $4200 LOUIS VUITTON PURSE AND TWO PAIRS OF SUNGLASSES WITH A COMBINED VALUE OF OVER $1,000.
SHADE GAP MAN ARRESTED FOR INDECENT ASSAULT –
A SHADE GAP MAN WAS ARRESTED AND ARRAIGNED ON THURSDAY ON CHARGES OF INDECENT ASSAULT AND CORRUPTION OF A MINOR, STEMMING FROM INCIDENTS WITH A 10-YEAR-OLD GIRL FROM DECEMBER 0F 2012 THROUGH MARCH OF THIS YEAR. STATE POLICE SAY 61-YEAR-OLD GREGORY KILPATRICK WAS ALREADY IN THE HUNTINGDON COUNTY JAIL AFTER BEING ARRESTED ON RAPE CHARGES ON JUNE 6TH. THOSE CHARGES ALSO INVOLVED A JUVENILE GIRL.
GIRLS INJURED IN ATV ACCIDENT –
2 GIRLS WERE HURT ON FRIDAY WHEN THE ATV THEY WERE RIDING ON DROVE INTO THE PATH OF A CAR. STATE POLICE SAY A 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL FROM TIPTON WAS DRIVING THE ATV ON RIDGE ROAD IN WARRIORS MARK TOWNSHIP, HUNTINGDON COUNTY, WHEN THE CRASH OCCURRED. SHE AND HER 11-YEAR-OLD FEMALE PASSENGER SUFFERED MODERATE INJURIES WHEN THEY WERE THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER OF THE CAR WAS NOT INJURED.

A winning ticket worth nearly 132-million dollars was sold at Federal Beer on Federal Street. If the winner opts to cash-out, he'll take home about 58-million dollars after federal taxes. This is the 17th Powerball jackpot-winning ticket sold in by the Pennsylvania Lottery since P-A joined the multi-state game.

IN THE ALTOONA AREA TODAY, THE CONTRACTOR WILL BEGIN REPLACING THE ROUTE 40-15/GRANDVIEW ROAD STRUCTURE OVER HOMERS GAP RUN. TRAFFIC WILL FOLLOW A 6 MILE DETOUR UNTIL MID-NOVEMBER. IN THE SPRING, CREWS WILL RETURN TO PLACE AN EPOXY OVERLAY ON THE BRIDGE WITH ALL WORK BEING COMPLETED BY MID-MAY.
