LOCAL MAN ELECTROCUTED

THE BLAIR COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE SAYS 43 YEAR OLD WILLIAM DAVIS, THE OWNER OF BILLY DAVIS CONSTRUCTION IN PINECROFT, DIED AFTER BEING ELECTROCUTED WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. DAVIS WAS WORKING AT A HOME IN ANTIS TOWNSHIP WHEN HE STOOD ON A LADDER AND USED A BROOM HANDLE TO LIFT CABLE AND PHONE LINES SO A TRUCK COULD PASS UNDERNEATH. THE PROPERTY OWNER’S DAUGHTER PERFORMED C-P-R UNTIL THE AMBULANCE ARRIVED. DAVIS LEAVES BEHIND A WIFE AND 3 CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 16. HIS SON WAS AT THE HOUSE WHEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED.

HIT & RUN DRIVER SAYS HE FELL ASLEEP

55 YEAR OLD PAUL WEATHERWALK OF ALTOONA TOLD POLICE HE FELL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND THAT’S WHY HE HIT 19 YEAR OLD COLLIN JOHNSON OF ALTOONA. POLICE TELL THE ALTOONA MIRROR THEY THINK WEATHERWALK WAS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. HE SPED AWAY FROM THE SCENE, HITTING A MAILBOX AND SPEED LIMIT SIGN. JOHNSON IS RECOVERING AT UPMC ALTOONA.

BACK IN MAY, BURNS SUFFERED A SERIOUS CONCUSSION AND OTHER INJURIES WHEN DEATH ROW INMATE ANDRE STATON CLOBBERED HIM WITH HANDCUFFED HANDS DURING A HEARING. METH MAKER SAYS HE WAS THREATENED

TOO MANY LAWMAKERS IN HARRISBURG?

State House Speaker Sam Smith thinks the General Assembly has too many members, and he PLANS to introduce 2 bills in the next session to reduce the number. One will cut the number of state representatives to 153, eliminating 100 members. The other would cut the number of state senators to 38, getting rid of 12 seats. Similar legislation died in the state Senate last year.
