Two people injured in a crash on
Stacy Henry of Philadelphia and Alicia Gardner of Bellefonte were allegedly trafficking large amounts of heroin from a motel on the Benner Pike and were being chased by police when they crashed a Hyundai Elantra near the parking lot of the Penn State Federal Credit Union on North Atherton Street near Colonnade Boulevard.
The Board of Trustees will have their regularly scheduled meeting at the Penn Stater. At today’s meeting, the results of the general election for three alumni seats will be announced today. 37 candidates are vying for the 3 seats on the board.
Youth Hunting Classes Could Expand
A bill allowing the Pennsylvania Game Commission to expand its Mentored Youth Hunting Program is awaiting Governor Tom Corbett’s approval. The legislation passed the General Assembly yesterday. The program began in 2006, aimed at creating more hunting opportunities for kids younger than 12, while maintaining safety.

Lawn Mowing Fines Possible
Just a reminder that the State College Borough Grass and Weed Ordinance is in effect until October 31st. According to Statecollege.com, the ordinance prohibits grass and weeds on a resident’s property from growing in excess of 6 inches high. If growth is determined to be extreme, borough officials will levy fines and hire contractors to mow lawns at the owner’s expense. Don’t worry, warnings are issued first, but after 72 hours a violation can be issued.
